Role Overview: 
Managing Director of India works on a highly visible, strategic initiative for the company – building the business in India. This entails evaluating and executing on opportunities to drive growth in India, accelerating the trajectory of two recently launched offerings in market and planning for future launches. 

The Managing Director will lead clients's India's go-to-market team and will coordinate closely with other business units and functional areas. He or she must have extensive experience in multi-channel sales & marketing and commercial innovation. And, given that this individual will be responsible for overall India business performance, he or she must have a proven track record of driving results and ideally has scaled a business in India before. 
The India MD will work closely with the senior leadership team to execute on defined strategies in-market and will be responsible for establishing partnerships that support the growth in India. Where appropriate, he or she will identify and evaluate prospective partners, negotiate with and manage these alliances consistent with client's strategy. It is essential that the individual selected for this position be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player. 

Core Responsibilities:
• Strategize & deliver on plans for recently launched offerings via business model & commercial innovation
• Define and execute a compelling go-to-market strategy, with emphasis on multi-channel sales & marketing
Lead the go-to-market team in India, instilling local best practices and operational rigor
Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in creating new business models and uncovering untapped market potential
Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer needs and preferences
Present proposed alliance priorities and transactions for approval by Senior Executive Management
Implement and manage partnerships that are consistent with the intent of the alliance
Represent India’s public eye with media, government, and other organization to build the brand
Have a high level of energy as well as strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills 
Demonstrate the ability to gain trust, negotiate business objectives, and work directly with a broad group of senior executives and subject matter experts

Talent Required:
Extensive experience in launching offerings in a new market and scaling a business in India
Seasoned operator who can innovate for continuous improvement and work cross-functionally
Very strong background in customer insight, multi-channel marketing & sales
Demonstrated strength in building, motivating and retaining high-performing teams
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical rigor in evaluating alternative solutions
High tolerance for ambiguity, embraces challenges and has infectious ‘can do’ attitude
Demonstrated experience as a true self-starter that can quickly and independently assess business requirements and become a trusted and integral part of the executive team
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with potential strategic partners, acquisition targets, end customers and internal senior management as needed
A passion for India and experience working in cross-cultural environment
Experience in the following spaces valued but not critical: SaaS, mobile, Small & Medium Enterprises (SME), financial management and financial institutions
